INDUSTRY — Two people are accused of trying to steal pieces of stove from a burned-out camp on Shadagee Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandy Burke responded to a report of suspicious activity about 4 p.m. to find the trunk of a white Volkswagen open with metal in it, Lt. Niles Yeaton said Thursday.
He heard a couple of people talking inside the burned structure and saw a pile of metal outside on the ground, Yeaton said.
Burke arrested Calvin C. Harris Jr., 32, of Industry and Sharon R. Kennedy, 47, of Livermore, each on a charge of misdemeanor theft, he said.
They were taken to the Franklin County Jail in Farmington.
They were both bailed on $3,000 unsecured bail and have a Farmington District Court date of Dec. 20.
Deputies Nate Reid and Christopher Chase assisted Burke at the scene.
