AUBURN — Margaret Karkos Rand, 99, of Mechanic Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Hospice House.
She was born in Lisbon Falls, July 27, 1913, the daughter of Stephen and Anna Zinchak Karkos. She had been employed at W.S. Libbey Co. as a weaver and later at Clover Manor in the dietary department.
She married Walter H. Rand. She is survived by a daughter, Martha Borden of Florida; daughter-in-law, Patricia Rand of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Karen Kellerman, Julie Kohler and husband, Greg Miller, Peter Kohler and wife, Melanie, David Rand and Kathleen Collimore and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Joshua Kellerman, Veda, Craig and Ruby Kohler, Hannah, Molly and Patrick Collimore; a nephew, Stephen Karkos and wife, Brenda, and their children, Katelyn, Alex and Shaun; a niece, Angela Valley and husband, Richard; a dedicated friend, Mickey Matson; and she was blessed by her friends at “The Vineyard” and her friends at Bucknam Oaks.
She was predeceased by her husband; and a son, Walter Rand Jr.
