New Beginnings Inc., a local nonprofit serving youth in crisis and their families, has been awarded an $8,500 community grant by the Best Buy Children’s Foundation to support a pilot educational support project for homeless youth. New Beginnings will use the funds to purchase computers and to help fund staff to support youth staying short-term in their Lewiston shelter. The staff help students keep up with their school work and to re-engage those homeless youth who have dropped out of school.
