AUBURN — Linda Madore Dumais, 64, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services, with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 21, 1948, in Lewiston, the first child of Ernest E. Madore and Cecile LeBlanc Madore Gagne, and the stepdaughter to Gerald Gagne, who are all deceased.

Linda graduated from Lewiston High School in 1966 and Bliss College in 1968. Upon graduation, she started her career with New England Telephone, and eventually retired from Verizon in 1996.

Once retired, she worked one year at the cafeteria at Trinity School, then worked 10 years for MetLife, both in Falmouth and in Lewiston.

On May 15, 1971, she married her best friend and caregiver, Marcel L.P. Dumais. After seven years of marriage, they happily received their only child, David M. Dumais.

Linda felt her greatest contribution was the donation of her stem cells to her brother, Roger, allowing him to enter into remission from leukemia. She proudly served as the matriarch of her family, and enjoyed the gathering of friends and family at the home she cherished.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Marcel of Lewiston; her devoted son, David and his partner, Justin Laughton, of Massachusetts; her brother, Roger and wife, Julie Madore, from Wisconsin; sister, Susan Goddard of Greene; brother, Jules Gagne of New Hampshire; father-in-law, Antonin Dumais; and two sisters-in-laws, Pauline Dumais and Lucille Fortin; she adored all her nieces and nephews from Colorado, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Greene.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her mother-in-law, Noella Dumais.
