LEWISTON — Fifth graders at St. Dominic Academy ring the school’s bell in Lewiston on Thursday at noon.
Catholic school students around all of the state of Maine rang bells at noon today in honor of the anniversary of Vatican II.
The bell was rung for the first time in over eight years to celebrate what Pope Benedict has declared the Year of Faith.
Each fifth grader had a chance to ring the school bell. Students in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade rang hand bells that they brought in from home.
