Lewiston 5, Oxford Hills 0
PARIS — Abdi Shariff-Hassan scored a pair of goals and picked up an assist as Lewiston trounced Oxford Hills, 5-0, in a boys’ soccer game Thursday.
The Blue Devils (10-1-2) scored four goals in the first half and cruised through the second half, adding another goal.
Yusuf Yama, Abdibaari Hersi and Abdullahi Shaleh each scored for Lewiston.
The Devils outshot the Vikings, 31-11, and Lewiston goalie Eric Soucy made nine saves.
Spruce Mountain 3, Telstar 0
JAY — Greg Whitney led a trio of players to register goals as Spruce Mountain overpowered Telstar 3-0 in a MVC boys’ soccer tilt Thursday.
After a scoreless first half, the Phoenix (8-5-1) found their rhythm shortly after the break. Zach Butterfield and Tyler Ritter also tallied for Spruce Mountain to complete the scoring.
Dustin Jones needed only one save to record the shutout, while Rick James deflected 10 shots between the posts for Telstar (1-12-1).
Falmouth 3, Poland 0
FALMOUTH — Cooper Lycan scored two goals nad J.P. White added a goal and an assist for Falmouth in a 3-0 WMC boys’ soccer win over Poland.
Zack Lowe made three saves for Poland (3-7-3).
Girls’ soccer
Monmouth 2, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Kylie Kemp scored both of Monmouth’s second-half goals as the Mustangs (12-2) ditched Winthrop 2-0 in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.
After a scoreless first half, the Mustangs found away to get around Winthrop (0-13-1) in the second half. Kemp scored her first goal on a feed from Danielle Bumann. Kemp wasn’t through and scored her second goal unassisted.
The Mustangs outshot the Ramblers, 17-7, Monmouth goalie Adriana Gonzales made four saves.
Dirigo 2, Madison 0
MADISON — Natalie Bolduc scored both goals, directing Dirigo (9-3-2) to a 2-0 victory over Madison (6-8) in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.
Dirigo goalie Natasha Deroche made four saves to preserve the shutout.
Oak Hill 4, Boothbay 0
WALES — Oak Hill put its offense into gear in the second half and hustled to a 4-0 win over Boothbay in a KVAC regular-season girls’ soccer finale Thursday.
Julie Morneault led the playoff-bound Raiders (7-6-1) with a pair of goals, while Alyssa Rouleau and Gabby Green also tallied. Morneault and Green were also credited with assists on each other’s goals.
Kelsey Collins made six saves to notch the shutout, while McKayla McFetridge turnee aside 11 shots in the cage for Boothbay (1-12-1).
Poland 1, Falmouth 0
POLAND — The Poland girls’ soccer squad managed a single goal in the first frame Thursday, just enough to come away with a 1-0 win over Falmouth in a late-season WMC matchup.
Emma Turton raced down the left side, worked her way past two defenders and fired a shot from 18 yards out that hit the right post before going into the net in the 23rd minute of play. Sarah Bolduc provided the assist in an effective combination.
Hayley Whitworth made 13 saves for the Knights (7-3-2) to preserve the shutout, while Caroline Lucas deflected four shots for Falmouth.
Mt. Abram 2, Carrabec 1
SALEM — Jill Howard fired a solo shot into the net with 24:26 left in regulation to give Mt. Abram a 2-1 win over Carrabec in MVC girls’ soccer Thursday.
Kate Jordan gave the Roadrunners (7-5-1) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from Taylor Henderson. The Cobras (4-9-1) answered early in the second half when Brooke Lewis tallied an unassisted goal.
Allie Lopez needed only two saves for Mt. Abram, while Sarah Larlee deflected 10 shots in the cage for Carrabec.
Sacopee Valley 1, Gray-New Gloucester 1
GRAY — Hayley Cote converted a pass from Kaylin Woods with 10 minutes left in regulation to give Gray-New Gloucester a 1-1 tie against Sacopee Valley in WMC girls’ soccer Thursday.
Brooke Totman scored the lone goal for Sacopee Valley on a penalty shot. Emily Cobert made seven saves for the Hawks, while veteran keeper Sam Wilkins turned aside two shots for the Patriots (4-5-4).
Spruce Mountain 6, Telstar 0
JAY — Hayley Doyen and Megan Duval each netted a pair of goals Thursday to propel Spruce Mountain to a 6-0 MVC girls’ soccer triumph over Telstar.
Duval gave the Phoenix a 1-0 advantage just nine minutes into the contest whe she converted a pass from Doyen. Spruce Mountain carried a 4-0 lead at the half and was firing on all cylinders.
Vanese Barnes and Casidee Couture also tallied to complete the scoring. Amber Delaney needed only three saves to preserve the shutout. Tori Ryerson deflected 11 shots in net for the Rebels.
