SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan erupted for five first-half touchdowns Friday night and coasted to a 51-29 Eastern Class A football victory over Edward Little at Reggie Clark Memorial Field.

Sean Ford had four touchdown passes, all in the second half, for Edward Little (1-6). Quin Leary caught three of the scores, covering 15, 9 and 4 yards. Ian Mileikis added a 38-yard TD.

But the game was already out of hand. Skowhegan (3-4) gained 288 yards to EL’s 84 in building a 32-0 lead at intermission.

Tyler Savage scored the first three Indians TDs on runs of 6 yards and 1 yard and a 42-yard reception from Adam Clukey on a fake punt.

Ben Salley scored from 30 yards out and D.J. Allen grabbed a 3-yard TD from Clukey, who was 8-for-16 for 161 yards in the first half.

Brett Gilbert rushed for a 1-yard score in the second half, and Kaleb Brown found the end zone twice from 40 and 27 yards.

Greely 35, Mtn. Valley 0

CUMBERLAND — Mountain Valley’s fading Western Class B football playoff aspirations took a huge hit Friday with a 35-0 loss at Greely.

The Falcons (2-5) suffered their second straight  shutout and third of the season.

Drew Hodge ran for a touchdown and threw for a pair to lead the Rangers (6-1).

Svenn Jacobsen rushed for a 4-yard score and caught a 1-yard TD pass from Hodge.

Hodge hit Nick Maynard for a 58-yard TD. Pat Finnegan also went the 40-yard distance with an interception.

Telstar 38, Sacopee Valley 0

SOUTH HIRAM — Telstar Regional High School posted its first varsity football win in 31 years Friday night, routing Sacopee Valley 38-0.

The Rebels (1-6) revived their program in 2011 after several successful seasons at the junior varsity level. The win ended a 14-game losing skid.

Both schools were seeking their first Campbell Conference victory. Sacopee ascended to varsity status in 2009.

Mt. Abram 3, Carrabec 1

SALEM — The Roadrunners got two second half goals to break a halftime tie to down Carrabec 3-1 in MVC boys’ soccer.

Mt. Abram sophomore Trevor Brackley scored about midway through the first half to begin the scoring. Carrabec’s William Crawford tied the score about seven minutes later.

Noah Rousseau broke the tie off an assist from Jay Chenard to open the second half for Mt. Abram’s (8-4-2). Chris Daly knocked in the final blow with a one timer from Calum Dixon. Tristen Dyer stopped eight shots in the victory. Trent Richardson turned away 12 shots for the Cobras (4-9-1).

Brunswick 4, Edward Little 1

BRUNSWICK —   Konnor Scarponi and Ryan Black scored two goals each as Brunswick cruised to a 4-1 victory over Edward Little in boys’ soccer Friday.

Black opened the scoring for the Dragons (8-3-2) at 39:09, tapping in a loose ball at the back post. Scarponi gave Brunswick a 2-0 advantage, scoring directly of a corner kick at 18:55

The Red Eddies (7-5-1) battled back in the second half. Michael Hammond scored from Zach Tannenbaum at 23:38 to cut the deficit in half.

Goalie Llewellyn Jensen made five saves for Edward Little, while goalie Greg Walton made three saves for the victory.

Mt. Blue 4, Skowhegan 1

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue got four goals in the first half en route to a 4-1 triumph over Skowhegan in KVAC boys’ soccer.

Gage Kennedy registered the game’s first goal for the Cougars (4-9). Josh Carlson followed with a pair of goals both assisted by Ike Doiron. Kennedy assisted Drew Parsons with final goal of the half. Lyric Despres scored the lone goal for Skowhegan in the second half.

Zack Jackson and Devin Hoyt combined for four saves for Mt. Blue while Sam Wheeler turned away 13 shots in the loss.

Girls’ soccer

Brunswick 4, Edward Little 0

AUBURN — Brunswick got a pair of goals in each half while Haley Murano stopped all five shots she faced as the Dragons blanked Edward Little 4-0 in girls soccer.

Anna Cowan got the Dragons (13-0) on the board just over 12 minutes into the game with an unassisted strike. Paige Tetu followed seven minutes later with an unassisted tally of her own.

Cowan struck again less than a minute into the second half scoring off an indirect kick from Jenna Libby. Tetu rounded out the scoring with her 23rd goal of the season. Taylor Landry and Molly Murray combined for 14 saves for the Red Eddies (7-6).

Mt. Blue 8, Skowhegan 0

SKOWHEGAN — Mt. Blue got goals from seven different scorers and three goalies combined to shut out Skowhegan 8-0 in girls KVAC soccer.

Chelsea Newhall wasted no time scoring the contest’s first goal 11 seconds into the game off an assist from Mackenzie Conlogue. Conlogue followed with a pair of goals herself, both assisted by Newhall. Hope Thompson and Eryn Doiron each tallied scores in the first half for a 5-0 Cougars halftime lead.

Zyrah Giustra, Gabby Foy, and Lauren St. Laurent each registered second half goals for Mt. Blue (7-5-1). Foy, Thia Bridges and Rachel Wolfe combined for six saves to earn the shutout. Andrea Quirion had 15 saves for Skowhegan (2-10-1).
