Robert Sparks, left, of Rolly’s Diner in Auburn serves prize-winning chowder to Leroy Walker of Auburn during the Chili and Chowder Challenge at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, Auburn/Lewiston Clubhouse on Saturday. The challenge was sponsored by the United New Auburn Association as a fundraiser for the Marshall’s Popcorn Truck restoration project. Winners in the chowder competition were Tony Lagee of Auburn, first place; Rolly’s Diner, second place. In the chili competition, first place went to Richard Langelier of Auburn; second place to Tina Saucier of Auburn. Best in show went to Tony Lagee of Auburn. Christine Morrison won judges’ choice for chowder.
