NORWAY — Commander Ron Snow of Stone-Smart American Legion Post 82 is inviting any veteran who served during the Korean War era to a recognition ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 21. It will be held at 1 p.m. at the Legion Hall on 212 Main St.

Any veteran serving from June 25, 1950, to Jan. 31, 1955, is entitled to receive a letter of appreciation from the state, as well as from Maine’s congressional delegation, recognizing their sacrifice. Veterans need not have served in the war zone.

Women veterans will also receive a coin authorized by the Maine Legislature.

Snow encourages all veterans from this time period to participate.

Call Snow at 744-9156 and provide your name, rank/rate at time of discharge and the branch of service, so the certificates are ready for the ceremony Sunday.
