Paul Gilbert has been as good a state representative as I have ever had. When I talk with him, he listens. He follows through and gets back to me to let me know what is going on.

I had a thought about handicapped parking, as I have a life-long issue. As the law was written, one would have to go to a doctor every four years and have a form filled out by the doctor and sent to the Department of Motor Vehicles so one could get a handicap plate or placard.

Gilbert submitted LD 143 that made it easier for all involved in the process of dealing with handicap plates.

Having Paul Gilbert as representative is a benefit to me and to all the people he represents.

Editor’s note: LD 143 provides “that a person who has a permanent disability and whose physician certifies that the disability is permanent does not need to continue to show proof of that disability for a disability plate or placard.”
