LEWISTON — Funeral services honoring the life of Oscar M. Hartford were held Thursday afternoon at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Weldon presiding. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Oscar’s two sons, Tom and Dick Hartford, as well as Oscar’s nephew, Ben Hurd. A video tribute produced by Oscar’s grandson, Lucas Hartford, was played during the service, which highlighted Oscar’s life. A procession to Gracelawn Memorial Park included the Woodstock Fire Department’s first response emergency vehicle as a tribute to Oscar’s years of service in Woodstock as a member of Mt. Abram’s National Ski Patrol. Upon arrival at the grave, the Rev. Weldon recited committal prayers, concluding with the U.S. Army honor detail playing Taps and then presenting our country’s flag to Oscar’s son, Tom, in recognition of his father’s service to his country during World War II. Pallbearers were Lucas and Elizabeth Hartford, Glenn Ridley, Ronald Prezch and James Marcowski.
