Retired Auburn Fire Chief Wayne Werts is running for District 70, part of Lewiston-Auburn.

As Werts climbed the ladder of success to becoming chief, he learned how to negotiate budgets for all concerned while using his excellent people skills.

He is a small business owner. A Lewiston High School graduate, he started working for Allied/United Ambulance, and worked there 26 years. He became an EMT/paramedic. He is a life-saver for people in serious medical need.

Well respected by myself and many other people who have crossed paths with him, he is known for his common sense. He believes cutting income taxes in Augusta is tax shifting the cost to local taxpayers in the form of property taxes. That doesn’t make sense. Having been on the Lewiston School Committee for many years, I agree.

I will be voting for Wayne Werts because of his common sense.
