Scholarship, award applications

RUMFORD — Information for the 2013 Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship and Elks Legacy Award has been distributed to the guidance offices at Mountain Valley, Dirigo and Telstar High schools and Gould Academy.

High school seniors who wish to further their education at a four-year college or university and home-schooled students who will complete their secondary education this academic year are eligible to apply.

Sons of Italy pasta dinner

RUMFORD — A pasta dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Sons of Italy Hall. Dinner items include pasta, meatballs, salad, refreshments and a dessert. The public is welcome. $8.

DIXFIELD — A free community dinner and fellowship will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Dixfield Seventh-day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall, 1 Blayne St.

Dems to hold Final Push Supper

RUMFORD — The traditional Final Push Supper of the Oxford County Democrats will be held at the Rumford Eagles Hall on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 5:30 p.m. with Congressman Mike Michaud as the guest of honor and candidates Sen. John Patrick, Rep. Matt Peterson, Rep. Sheryl Briggs,Mike Broderick, Jane Rich and Carol Gutekunst in attendance.
