AUBURN — Jessie Maud Mailman, 95, a former resident of South Hatch Hill Road, Greene, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 21, at Clover Manor.

She was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Montgomery, Vt., the daughter of Ransom R. and Lizzie O. (Deary) Chaplin. Jessie attended school in Montgomery, Vt.

She worked for 23 years at Travelers Insurance Co. in Syracuse, N.Y., as a rater, retiring in 1977. On Aug. 29, 1936, in Oswegatchie, N.Y., she married John Henry Peter Garrow Sr. They moved to Maine, and made their home in Greene. John passed away Nov. 30, 1987.

On Oct. 25, 1992, Jessie married Warren H. Mailman of Greene. He passed away July 1, 2007.

She enjoyed skiing, traveling and all outdoor activities; Jessie really enjoyed all her travels in her motor home.

She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Joan and Edward Emmons of Fayetteville, N.Y., and Barbara and George Reidy of Canastota, N.Y.; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Garrow and her friend, William Leighton, of Lewiston; grandchildren, George and John Paul Reidy, Edward B. Emmons, Lisa Ricketts, Peter Garrow and wife, Nancy and Penny Landry and husband, Brian; three great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands, John Henry Peter Garrow Sr. and Warren H. Mailman; her son, John Henry Peter Garrow Jr., July 2, 1992.
