WILTON — Police continued their investigation Tuesday into a reported home invasion Monday on Canal Street, Chief Heidi Wilcox.
Police responded to the report at about 8 p.m.
A resident reported that an unknown man had entered a home.
The male suspect is described as wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He is believed to be in his early 20s, more than 6 feet tall and weighing more than 200 pounds, as estimated by the resident, Wilcox said.
When confronted by the resident, the suspect fled the house.
No weapon was seen, no threats were made and nothing is known to be missing from the home, Wilcox said.
Wilton police were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and a dog was used to track the suspect. The track indicated that the suspect may have traveled up High Street in Wilton to the area of South Stockford Avenue, the chief said.
