The Maine Red Claws will hold a fundraising scrimmage at Edward Little High School in Auburn on Nov. 17.
Game time is 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Edward Little athletic department at 60 Court St., Gippers Sports Bar and Grill, The Hair Connection, the Red Claws team store and offices at 413 Congress St. in Portland and www.maineredclaws.com.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the school. Edward Little High School, which was built in 1961, has been placed on probation by New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is in danger of losing accreditation if repairs and upgrades do not take place. Necessary upgrades to the 51-year-old school include the high school include electrical repairs, insulation, as well as a new cafeteria and auditorium.
This is the second scrimmage the Red Claws have head at EL since their inaugural season in 2009.
“Edward Little High School welcomed the Red Claws in 2009 prior to our first season and jam-packed their gymnasium with fans eager to get the first glimpse at what was then an unknown team,” said Red Claws President and Chairman Bill Ryan, Jr. “After seeing the reports of the conditions at the school, we felt that E.L.H.S. was the best place to host this year’s scrimmage so that we could show our support for the Red Eddies just as they should their support for us prior to our inaugural season.”
The Red Claws will open their fourth season on Nov. 23 and Fort Wayne on November 25. The team’s home-opener is Nov. 30. Tickets for the 2012-13 regular season will go on sale this Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8:30 AM and may be purchased at the Congress St. offices, by calling 210-6655 or online at www.maineredclaws.com.
Tickets range from $6-$30 and are available for all 24 home games.
