Stags got that consecutive-wins record out of the way. Now, to chase an accomplishment people will notice a hundred years from now: Three straight Class A state titles.

2. Thornton (7-1)

Kennebunk the first obstacle between Trojans and the Foregone Conclusion Bowl, i.e., a playoff rematch with Cheverus.

3. Lawrence (8-0)

Nobody’s stayed within three touchdowns of the Bulldogs. Don’t you dare think they’re planning to let Messakonskee change that.

4. Mt. Blue (8-0)

Cougars gave up the first points of the game only twice this regular season. They combined for 100 points in those two games.

5. Leavitt (7-1)

Let’s subtract the first three minutes against Mt. Blue. OK, raise your hands if you’ve scored against the Hornets’ starting defense. Yeah, didn’t think so.

6. Scarborough (6-2)

Red Storm might be the best-of-the-rest in Westerm A, but they don’t have an easy first-round assignment with Alex Shain and Sanford coming to town.

7. Brunswick (6-2)

Expect a flood of unfamiliar names in the scoring column against Mt. Ararat. Dragons have little to gain on this side of impending rematch with Cony.

8. Messalonskee (6-2)

We all knew Bangor had one big, spoiler game left in them, didn’t we?

9. Marshwood (7-1)

First-year coach Alex Rotsko paid numerous visits to Massachusetts Super Bowl. It’s starting to look like Hawks are fit to take him to Super Saturday at Fitzy.

10. Cony (6-2)

MPA doesn’t keep such individual single-season records, but Rams QB Ben Lucas (2,129 yards, 29 TDs) has to be in the neighborhood of two.
