The 2013 Maine Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Award was presented by Maine’s first lady, Ann LePage, recently at the Maine State Grange. Sharon Hathaway received the award in recognition of her work at Leavitt Area High School where students explore agriculture as a possible career choice and its impact on the state and local community. The Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Walter Whitcomb spoke to the group and congratulated Hathaway on her accomplishments. From left are Whitcomb, Hathaway and LePage.
