I am voting for Rep. Mike Carey to continue to work in Augusta. He is the ranking Democratic member on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee. He has represented his constituents exceedingly well.

He worked hard to keep the influence of money out of politics. He fought to preserve clean elections. The Republican majority in Augusta voted to weaken the clean election program, increasing the power of big money in campaigns.

Rep. Carey’s opponent is privately financed, meaning he is able to dump large sums of money into the campaign. Beware of negative campaigning and big money.

Rep. Carey also introduced a bill to increase the minimum wage as the cost of living increased, which the Republican-controlled Legislature rejected. Carey understands that the state needs to move toward a livable wage.

Rep. Mike Carey continues to be an outstanding choice for Lewiston.
