FARMINGTON — A corrections officer was injured Friday after an inmate hit her in the face with his hand, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said.
The incident occurred about 9:15 a.m. at the jail. The corrections officer had marks on her neck and had blood on her ear, he said.
The inmate was maced by a corrections officer and put in a cell, Yeaton said. Yeaton and Detective David St. Laurent assisted the officer.
A report will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office to be reviewed.
The corrections officer drove herself to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington to be checked out and returned to work, Yeaton said.
