LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library has announced the formation of eight new community book discussion clubs to be offered at the facility.
Each group will hold their first meeting at LPL in mid-November. Participation is free and open to any adult (age 18 and over) in the community.
Preregistration is required and may be done by emailing the library at [email protected] or calling 513-3135.
The initial books and meeting times for the clubs are:
“Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card, 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.
“Cutting for Stone,” Abraham Verghese, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.
“1861: the Civil War Awakening,” Adam Goodheart, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.
“Olive Kitteridge,” Elizabeth Strout, time to be decided, Tuesday evening, Nov. 13.
“In the Garden of Beasts,” Erik Larson, 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.
“The Marriage Plot,” Jeffrey Eugenides, time to be decided, Wednesday evening, Nov. 14.
“The Life of Pi,” Yann Martel, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
“Hunger Games,” Suzanne Collins, 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.
