The USATF-Maine Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Cony High School beginning at 10:30 am.
An open Championship for ages 19 and over will be run at 10:30 am. Athletes will compete in six age groups (8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18). The top 30 and top 3 clubs will qualify for the Region 1 Championship to be held November 18, 2012 on Long Island, New York. Qualifiers from that meet will qualify for the National Championship.
Runners 19 and over can register for their race beginning at 9:00 am. Runners 18 and under are to register online for the meet with www.coacho.com and will need a USATF number and age verified to register online. Registration will also be accepted the day of the race. Runners must bring a birth certificate, passport, or drivers license so age can be verified. Maine USATF registration is $15 and meet entry fee is $7.
Course walks will begin at 9:30 am and course maps will be available.
Runners that have a conflict with the race day or competing in the New England High School Championship can request a waiver by contacting Ron Kelly([email protected]). Medals and Patches will be awarded in the Open Competition. Junior Olympic Medals and State Championship patches(1st place) will be awarded to the top 20 in each age group.
