AUGUSTA —

and first lady Ann LePage will greet donors Saturday during the second of three food drives scheduled at the Blaine House, according to a release issued by LePage’s office Thursday.

It will be held from 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

“The holidays are quickly approaching with the winter months, and it is important that we reach out to those in our communities who have hit a rough path in their lives,” LePage said in a written statement. “In these tough financial times, many families are struggling to make ends meet. I have been in their shoes before. The First Lady and I are happy to open the Blaine House and do what we can to help those Mainers who are in need.”

After making their donations, visitors are invited to a tour of the historic residence, meet LePage and his wife and enjoy light refreshments.

The third and final drive will be held Saturday, Nov. 10.

It’s the second year in a row the governor has hosted a food drive for charity. In 2011, the drive “collected thousands of pounds of food,” according to the release. Those donations were divided equally and distributed to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter in Ellsworth, Sister Mary O’Donnell Shelter in Presque Isle and the York County Shelters Program in Alfred.
