AUBURN — In their Oct. 29 mock election, Auburn Middle School students voted for Barack Obama for president and Angus King for U.S. Senate, and said yes to allowing gay marriage.
The tally was:
* For president — Barack Obama, 251; Mitt Romney, 95.
* For U.S. Senate — Cynthia Dill, 121; Angus King, 156; Charlie Summers, 74.
* For U.S. Congress, District 2 — Michael Michaud, 302; Kevin Raye, 100.
* Question 1 to allow gay marriage — yes, 283; no, 128.
Students also approved all bond questions on the ballot.
AMS student mock election results were similar to other schools, as reported Oct. 31. Statewide student mock elections will be reported by the Secretary of State’s office early next week, according to Gov. Paul LePage’s office. Statewide mock election results will be at www.maine.gov/sos. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
