LISBON FALLS — Chester L. “Chet” Moody, 82, of Lisbon Falls, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Brunswick, Feb. 17, 1930, to Daniel L. and Lilla M. (Ward) Moody. In his younger years, he worked at Freeport Shoe Co. and as an auto salesman, before starting Chet’s Used Cars on the Bath Road, with his younger brother, Ken. They closed the auto dealership in the late 1960s and Chet went to work as the Maine regional supervisor for Johnson Products of Boston. Chet retired early to take care of his rental properties.
He spent winters with his wife, Judy at their winter home in Lakeland, Fla., where they enjoyed all the fun that Florida has to offer. Chet liked spending time with his son, Rick going to car shows, stock car races, yard sales and working on projects together.
Chet is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy G. (Blowers) Moody; his son, Rick Moody of Brunswick; a stepdaughter, Rhonda and her husband, Andy Chase; a granddaughter, Cecile Wilson and her husband, Nick, of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Melody King of Auburn; a grandson, Daniel L. Moody II of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Dawn Pennell of Auburn; a granddaughter, Samantha Bailey of Topsham; a granddaughter, Liza Chase of Norway; several great-grandchildren; Chet is also survived by his sister, Shirley Connolly of Brunswick; and his sister, Gloria Elwell and her husband, James, of Brunswick.
Chet was predeceased by his daughter, Cathy Pennell-Moody; two brothers, Daniel L. Moody Jr. and Kenneth R. Moody; and a sister, Doris Moody.
