BRUNSWICK — Katherine N. Lamkin, 87, of Harpswell, died Oct. 29, at Parkview Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Kay was born Feb. 27, 1925, in China and graduated from Cony High School in 1941. Since 1985, she and her husband of 63 years had enjoyed winters in Florida, and summers in New Hampshire, and Maine. Together, they visited every U.S. state and most of the Canadian provinces.

Kay also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and competed at a “Pro” level and she also taught shuffleboard seven years. Her other hobbies included reading, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch and dancing. Kay’s greatest joy was the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jean French and her husband, Don, of Lincolnville, Sueanne Quirion and her husband, Frank, of Augusta, Truman Lamkin and his wife, Sandy, of Haverhill, Mass., and Mark Lamkin and his wife, Linda, of Manchester, N.H.; her sisters, Muriel Plummer, Beverly Hinkley and Barbara Wakely and her husband, Tim; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Laura Given Clark; her brothers, James, Walter and Arthur Clark; and her sisters, Marjorie Hewitt and Loretta Boatner.
