I’m writing in support of Nichole Stevens, who is running against Ellie Espling to represent District 105 (New Gloucester, Durham and part of Lisbon) in the Maine House of Representatives.
Stevens grew up in rural Maine, and she knows what she’s talking about when she says that Augusta’s priorities are out of step with Maine’s middle-class families.
Her focus will be on jobs and education, a welcome relief from the incumbent’s misplaced focus on turning back the clock, back to “trickle down” economics and (especially when it comes to women’s reproductive lives) blurring the line between church and state.
With tough decisions to be made, I trust Nichole Stevens to care about all of her neighbors, and to search for solutions with all of her colleagues, on both sides of the aisle.
The election is an opportunity to send this impressive young woman to Augusta.
