LEWISTON — Rita A. Fournier, 81, of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, at Montello Manor surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lewiston, July 10, 1931, the daughter of Edouard and Anna (Levasseur) Boutin and she was educated in Lewiston schools.
She married Roger Fournier, May 31, 1952, he predeceased her Feb. 14, 2011.
Rita worked 30 years at Knapp Shoe until her retirement. She also worked for Connie’s Catering. After her retirement, Rita volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital Gift Shop.
She frequently attended the Cursillo in Augusta and served as eucharistic minister at Holy Family Church.
She enjoyed music, cooking and watching the Patriots. Most of all, she enjoyed going out to eat with her sister and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Harps and husband, Ray, of Lewiston; their children, Melissa Vyr and husband, Scott, of San Diego, Calif., Troy Harps and companion, Jennifer Dionne and their daughter, Mia; her son, Tim Fournier and wife, Rebecca, and their sons, Zachary and Jacob Fournier, all of Kentucky; her sister, Constance Albert and husband, Laurier, of Lewiston; her niece, Joline Loesberg and husband, Wayne; and a special nephew, Michael Sasseville.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Florien Boutin; her sister, Fleur-Ange Bissonette; and her son, Gary Fournier, March 22, 2004.
