Gaudreau

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Rolande (Pelletier) and Larry Gaudreau recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married in Auburn on Aug. 8, 1942.

The couple was part of the Twin City community for many years, operating Gaudreau’s Market and the Hamburg House Restaurant. Mr. Gaudreau also served as a legislator from Lewiston and retired as director of boating and snowmobile registration and safety for the state of Maine.

Attending the family celebration was their son, Marc Gaudreau of Port Charlotte, Fla.; their three daughters and spouses, Terri (Bill) Slattery of Punta Gorda, Fla., Diane (Bob) Kelly of Appleton, Wisc., and Lorraine (John) Brennan of North Windham. A granddaughter, Katie (Jarrett) Moore of Port Charlotte, Fla., and great-granddaughter, Abigail Moore, also enjoyed the festivities.

The couple has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A special renewal of vows was held at St. Antonio Church in Port Charlotte with the Rev. Arthur Jacoby officiating. Following the Mass, the family enjoyed a celebration dinner at the Crow’s Nest Restaurant in Venice, Fla.

The couple made their home at La Casa in North Port, Fla., for 28 years and recently moved to Lexington Manor in Port Charlotte, Fla.
