BRISTOL — Lisabeth Ann “Little Bit” Dawson, 70, passed away Oct. 31, peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, March 5, 1942, the daughter of the late Charles and Carolla Bogdon Randall. She grew up in Auburn and attended local schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1960. After high school, she attended the Mercy School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1963.

She married her husband, Bill, Sept. 14 1963. For the first few years of their marriage the couple lived in Indiana, and Florida, before returning to Maine in 1970. After returning to Maine, she began her career at Miles Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a nurse until her retirement earlier this year.

She was very proud of the work she did at the hospital and played a pivotal role in the creation of the Ambulatory Surgical Unit at the hospital.

She was a member and past appointed Grand Officer of the Beacon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved traveling throughout the state visiting other chapters with her husband, Bill making many new friends along the way.

She enjoyed traveling and loved being able to pack up the camper and go to various destinations including spending many winters in the Florida sun. Before she became ill, she loved to play golf. She usually could be found in the mornings drinking her coffee and working on the daily crossword and Sudoku puzzles or playing solitaire.

She was a good cook, but never was a fan of recipes making it impossible for anyone to copy one of her many signature dishes. She enjoyed spending time outside in her flower gardens and could be out there for hours on end.

Spending time with her family was always a joy and she loved nothing more than to have everyone over for the annual 4th of July lobster bake in their front yard, a tradition they had for more than 15 years.

She loved decorating for holidays. It did not seem to matter which one but Christmas seemed to be her favorite one to decorate for and her Christmas letters were famous. She loved being at her home in Bristol and loved to be around each member of her family. She loved each and everyone one of them so much. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Bill Dawson of Bristol; daughter, Kathryn Cook of Windermere, Fla.; son, Michael Dawson and his wife, Denise, of Bristol; brothers, William Randall and his wife, Janet, of Auburn, James Randall and his wife, Linda, of Winthrop and David Randall and his wife, Mary Ellen, of North Fort Meyers, Fla.; sister, Marcia Stuart of Pembroke Pine, Fla.; grandchildren, Katie Lincoln of South Bristol,

Mary Lincoln of Nobleboro, Katie Cook of Windermere, Fla., Jack Cook of Windermere, Fla., and Noah Dawson of Bristol; great-grandson, Lincoln Ball of South Bristol; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
