AUBURN — Thompson W. Moore Sr., 85, of South Paris, died Friday, Nov. 2, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Kingfield on May 20, 1927, the son of Wendelland Hildred Thompson Moore. He graduated from the Leavitt Institute in 1944. He had been employed as a supervisor with the Maine Dept. of Transportation for many years. He married Pauline Eichel on Sept. 1, 1950. He was a member of the MSEA, the Scottish Rites and Paris Lodge No. 94 AF and AM, where he served in many offices, including Past Master and Chairman of the Lodge Trustees. Thompson was also a past master of the Masonic Lodge in Livermore. He also served as District Educational Representative for the 16th Masonic District. He was a 25-year member of the Livermore Grange, where he had served as Master. He was a member of the Snowhoppers Snowmobile Club, Fireside Friends Camping Club and a member of the Foster-Carroll American Legion Post. He enjoyed camping, working on his house, cribbage, socializing, gardening, his apple trees and growing raspberries.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Hewitt and her husband, Larry of Leeds; his son, Thompson W. Jr. and his wife, Amy D. of South Paris; grandchildren, Andrea deJongh and husband, Daniel, Heather Herrick and husband, Christopher, Thompson Moore III, Kaylee Jae-Lynn Moore, Alysia Vance and husband, Paul, and Ryan Warfield and wife, Katie; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mabel Smith and husband, Fred O., and Emily Moore; his brothers, Manton Moore and wife, Judy, Frank Moore and wife, Wanda, and David Moore and wife, Pat; and several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sylvia Michaud-Kessell.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Pauline.
