SKOWHEGAN — Betty Susi, 83, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 4.
She was born Aug. 7, 1929, in Turner, the daughter of the late Haven and Ruby Roberts. Betty was a graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. She was proud of her school and was captain of the high school basketball team.
She married Paul Susi Jr. and together they raised their family. She was a wonderful homemaker and one of the last of her generation who was a stay-at-home mom.
She enjoyed watching sports, especially if it involved her children and grandchildren, decorating, dancing, shopping and purchasing shoes. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending the weekends with her family.
She was a member of the Pittsfield Arts Club, the Sebasticook Valley Hospital Auxiliary and the National Association of Women in Construction. She also enjoyed getting together with her friends for their Monday-Friday coffee gatherings. She will be lovingly missed and remembered.
She is survived by her children, Mark Susi and wife, Kathi, of Pittston, Wendy St. Clair and husband, John, of Pittsfield, and Michael Susi and wife, Debra, of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Dana Susi, Matt Susi, Josh St. Clair, Jamie Johnson and husband, Tim, Andrew St. Clair, Michael Susi, Meredith Willard and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Parker and Levi; and siblings, William Roberts and wife, Sally, of Turner, Norma Chandler and husband, Robert, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Penny Bubier and husband, Stanley, of Greene.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Susi, in 2006; and her brother, Gus Roberts.
