Tickets available for Rotary meal

BETHEL — The Rotary Club of Bethel will host its annual country breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Ordway Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street.

The annual event benefits community projects and scholarships. The menu will include pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, breads and beverages. Advance tickets are $7 for adults; $8 at the door; and children $3. All Bethel Rotary members have advance tickets for sale.

Senior social, luncheon free

HARRISON — A free senior social and luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Community Room at the fire station. Due to the elections on Tuesday, the lunch was moved to Thursday.

It will feature Thanksgiving shepherd’s pie, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, juice and coffee/tea. The meal is paid for by the Harrison Lion’s Club.Veterans will be honored during the event.

Girl Scouts to hold information program

WATERFORD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting in the Waterford area at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Waterford Memorial School.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the different ways girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Scouts accepting canned donations

PARIS — The Cub Scouts of Paris, Norway and Hebron are accepting donations of canned goods and unopened hygiene products for the local food bank. Pack 130 will have donation boxes at the following locations: Don’s Redemption Center, Norway Town Office, Guy E, Rowe School, Paris Elementary, Oxford Hills Middle School and Hebron Station.

Members will collect the products on Thursday, Nov. 8, for delivery to the food pantry on the following day.
 
Because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, the food bank representative stated Thanksgiving items are appreciated. In addition, the food bank is always in need of items such as tuna, peanut butter, boxed macaroni and cheese, pasta and coffee.

Community coalition to meet

BRIDGTON — The newly formed Community Activities Coalition will meet at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Bridgton Community Center. All adults over 50 are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
