FARMINGTON — Grace E. Cox, 87, a resident of Wilton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Monday, Nov. 5, at Franklin Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Grace was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Livermore, one of six daughters of Thomas and Effie (DeMone) Demont. She attended local schools. She married Arthur Kyes in 1945, and they had two daughters, Carolee and June. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Ronald Cox and had 54 wonderful years together and they had their daughter, Heidi.
She was a very hard worker for many years at the local shoe factory, retiring in 1987. As a young woman, Grace and her twin, Gladys would play guitar and sing, entertaining at the local Granges and such. Later in life, she enjoyed spending all her time with the love of her life, Ronald. She also enjoyed watching television and spending time with her cocker spaniel, Molly.
Grace is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Cox of Wilton; three daughters, Carolee Simeoni and her husband, Barry, of Alfred, June Watson and her husband, Dwight, of Livermore Falls and Heidi Greenleaf and her husband, Mike, of Wilton; her “other” daughter, Peggy Carr and her husband, Larry, of Livermore; two sisters, Betty Adams and her husband, Bobby, of Kents Hill and Marilyn Remington of Lisbon; brother-in-law, Lauriston Swett of Farmington; one granddaughter, Jennifer DeWitt of Jay; three great-granddaughters, Hannah Enoch of Bath and Emma and Ivy Enoch of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Carmean and husband, Harry, Lois Epstein and her husband, Harold and her twin sister, Gladys Swett; and her great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn Grace Holt.
