LEWISTON — Laurent D. Bachand, 86, of Lewiston passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 20, 1925, son of the late Edward and Wilhelmine Cote Bachand. He was educated in Lewiston schools and attended Robert’s Business College.

Larry was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed by Reliable Oil Co. and Dead River Co. as a sales representative until his retirement in 1987.

In August 1946, he married the former Georgette Plante and was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church.

He is survived by his wife, Georgette of Lewiston; three sons, Robert and wife, Amanda, of Alaska, Gerald of Togus and Michael and partner, Pamela Lucas, of Standish; seven grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lucia Noonan; and a brother, Armand Bachand.
