Democratic incumbent Sheryl Briggs, 57, of Mexico eked out a victory over Lisa Keim in House District 93 on Tuesday.

Briggs received 2,111 votes to edge Keim of Dixfield with 2,017 votes.

Keim, 40, pledged to support tax incentives for business improvements, streamline the regulation process, expand availability of natural gas and seek to lower employer-related expenses, such as workers’ compensation and insurance.

Briggs, who has served five years in the Legislature, campaigned on a promise to promote “welfare to work” programs, encourage all citizens to finish their education, bring down energy costs, pass bonds for research and development and “market our state’s excellent workforce and its natural beauty.”

Both were Clean Election candidates.
