LIVERMORE — Maple Lane Restaurant was the setting for the Livermore Falls High School Class of 1967 45th reunion on Aug. 4. A social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. began the evening, followed by a buffet supper. Twenty-four classmates were in attendance, accompanied by spouses and guests.

The school colors of green and white were the theme for the tables and the floral centerpieces were supplied and arranged by Barbara Cook. Life-size posters of the original freshman class and posters of past reunions were hung around the dining room. A table of yearbooks, photos and other memorabilia was set up for classmates to view.

Classmates were greeted by Paula Ward, who was in charge of signing them in and passing out name tags. After supper, the traditional “class meeting” was held officiated over by Dave Allen, class president, and Gerri Smith, class treasurer.

The program began with a welcoming of classmates and guests, followed by a financial report by Smith. A moment of remembrance was held for the deceased classmates as Allen read off the names. Danny Guild, 1972; Jeff Rose, 1984; Sheila Riordan Pierce, 1987; Richard Marston, 1992; Roger Girardin, 1997; Ethel Frey Dodge, 1997; Debbie Newell Lidstone, 2000; Felix Jacques, 2005; Robert Blodgett, 2005; Valerie Kenney Drown, 2007; Steve Botka, 2009; Pamela Bilodeau Cleveland, 2009; and John Judd, 2011.

A few classmates recalled the dedication of the deceased members, especially fond memories of Steve Botka. A special place in memory was set up with a lit candle and framed photos in memory of the deceased.

A thank-you was given to the committee for their work. Serving on the committee were Penny Brown, Norma Luciano, Paula Ward, Barbara Cook, Candy Jackman, Dave Allen and Gerri Smith.

A coffee mug, with an image of the original high school was designed and donated by Ronald Chadwick. The mugs were given as gifts to each attending classmate. The class of 1967 was the last class to graduate from that building. After the conclusion of the program, cake was served and the rest of the evening was spent socializing.

Attending from out-of-state were Carol Gravel Crocker, Colonia, N.J. ; Peeta Groleau Winter, Chesterfield, N.H. ; Janice Hachey Hughes, Alexandria, Va. ; George Warren, Carnation, Wash. ; Cindy Moffett Koehler, Williston, Vt. ; Kirk Cressey, Saint Peters, Mo. ; Beverly Wilkins Tanaka, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Attending from out-of-town were Dave Allen, Readfield; Mike Cox, Cornish; Judy Ellingwood Mann, New Sweden; Evie Souther Norton, Farmington; Lynn Weed Quirrion, Rockland; and Gerri Rossignol, Bucksport.

Attending from the area were Penny Davis Brown, Paula Dube Ward, Roger Cloutier, Barbara Merrill Cook, Patty Berry Every, Karen Guild Nichols, Gail Masterman Jones, Waldo Souther, Candy Tenney Jackman, Norma Wellman Luciano and Ronald Chadwick.

Classmates who had planned on attending but were not able to were Ray Buck, Louise Crosson Begin and Alvin Parker. Philip St. Pierre, Awendaw, S.C., who also wasn’t able to attend, sent a letter that was read during the program.

A fall gathering was decided for the 50th reunion in hopes of more classmates being able to attend.
