Republican incumbent Tom Winsor won another two-year term with a victory over Mary Lou St. John in House District 95.
Winsor received 52 percent of the vote to edge his opponent, 2,331 to 2,156.
St. John, 70, of Norway challenged Winsor, 68, also of Norway, campaigning to bring down Maine’s energy costs, support bond passage for research and development, to “market our state’s excellent workforce” and to fight for reasonable regulation of wind power.
Winsor, who has served 10 years in the Legislature, including eight years on the Appropriations Committee, campaigned on a promise to continue efforts made in the 125th Legislature to “bring Maine’s tax structure and regulatory environment in line with other states,” including aligning Maine’s welfare programs more closely with those in other states.
St. John was a Clean Election candidate; Winsor did not use Clean Election funds.
