LEWISTON — The Lewiston Farmers’ Market will open again for the winter season from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St.

The market will be held every third Thursday of the month thereafter, November through April. Much like the summer market, the Lewiston Winter Market will offer a family friendly atmosphere with an average of 25 vendors offering seasonal fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy products, artisan cheese, fresh bread, baked goods, seafood and live lobsters, prepared meals, fiber arts, hand crafted soaps, herbal products, pottery, cut flowers, holiday wreaths and knife sharpening.

In addition to a wide selection of Maine produced goods, market-goers can have a meal from the Winter Market Cafe while listening to live and local music.

Featured musicians for the opening of the market will be the Burnt Beard Band, an eclectic Americana band from Turner. For more information on the band, visit Burntbeardband.com.

The market will continue its Market Dollars program for the winter, helping SNAP and WIC recipients stretch their food dollar, as well as the Market Rewards program, which rewards regular customers with a gift certificate.

For questions about the market or directions, email [email protected] or call 513-3848. The market is sponsored by St. Mary’s Health System and is coordinated by the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center.
