Animal caregiver Sabrina Kunc of Lewiston holds a family of kittens at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston on Thursday. The humane society is having a “Give Thanks” adoption promotion during the month of November so staff can find good homes for the abundance of cats at the shelter. “We have almost 400 cats in our care,” Operations Manager Zachary Black said. Adoption fees have been waived for cats six months and older, and the normal kitten fee of $130 has been reduced to $45. The fee includes all vaccinations, spay or neuter, a microchip and a follow-up vet exam. A free cat carrier comes with each adoption during the promotion.
