LEWISTON — Police arrested a 23-year-old Lewiston man after a fight outside 148 Oxford St. Sunday night, accusing him of stabbing an Auburn man at least twice, leaving “significant” wounds, according to Lt. David St. Pierre.
Tyler Belanger, 23, was charged with elevated aggravated assault. Belanger and the victim, David Gelineau, 29, knew each other.
“They were visiting a friend, it involved a female,” St. Pierre said.
Police responded to the call of a fight at 10:21 p.m. Gelineau was stabbed in the upper torso and under one arm with a knife, he said, and taken to Central Maine Medical Center.
Belanger was found a short distance away, St. Pierre said.
