RUMFORD — Christmas events and two closed-door issues will go before selectmen at their meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.

The board will be asked to address requests from the Rumford Fireman’s Relief for the annual Christmas in the Valley Parade and for Christmas Caroling by Rumford Hospital.

Selectmen are also asked to extend appointments for Comprehensive Planning Committee members and to approve posting a “No Parking This Side of Street” sign on Essex Avenue between York and Penobscot streets.

There will also be a discussion on hawkers’ and peddlers’ licenses, before the first of two executive sessions. That is to discuss confidential records for a poverty abatement request.

The second closed-door session is for union negotiations.

A scheduled workshop that was to start prior to the meeting at 6 p.m., has been canceled.
