MONMOUTH — A memorial service was held Monday for Wendell Scott Burgess at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home. The Rev. Patricia Jones officiated at the service. Two poems “Mother’s Day” and “You’ve given me Strength” were poems that Scott wrote for his mother and were read by his sister-in-law, Valerie. Two hymns that were Scott’s favorites, “Amazing Grace” and “Old Rugged Cross” were played.
