LEWISTON — Lillian Noella Dufour, 89, of 5 Hartford Street, Lewiston, died Nov. 15, at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Auburn, the youngest daughter of Napoleon and Ida (Cote) Dionne, and attended Auburn Schools. Lil married Florien Dufour Jan. 24, 1948. Flo and Lil established a strong and loving family unit, raising four children in the Hogan Road neighborhood of Lewiston. Florien passed away in 2008, shortly after they had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
During her working career she was employed at Bates Mill and was a cook at the York Steak House and at St. Mary’s Hospital. Lil was a member of St. Peter’s and Paul’s Basilica, past president of Assurance Canado Americaine Chapter 54, a member of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary and a Fourth Degree wife.
Lil was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching sports, playing cards on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and dancing. Lillian lived a long, full life, leaving many wonderful warm memories for family and friends.
Lillian is survived by son, Paul Dufour and his wife, Linda of Turner; daughter, Doris Tutlis and her husband, Joseph of Carrabassett Valley; daughter, Linda Baril and her husband, Gerard of Carrabassett Valley; and son, Robert of Lewiston. She is also survived by grandchildren, Tina White, Christopher Tutlis, Brian Baril, Lisa Beaulieu, Matthew Tutlis and Amanda Krasa; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Florien; she was predeceased by her sister, Yvette Gagne.
The family would like to thank the staff at the d’Youville Pavilion for the 11 years of compassionate care that they gave Lillian.
