SABATTUS — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Lucille M. Guerette was celebrated by the Rev. Lionel Chouinard on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
On the way to church, the funeral procession passed by Elco Machining in Lewiston as a final tribute to Lucille, who founded the family business with her husband, Elden, in 1972. It was there that Lucille’s children placed flowers in honor of their parents.
At the beginning of Mass, Lucille’s children draped their mother’s casket with a white burial pall that symbolizes their mother’s spiritual birth and baptism with God in heaven.
During Mass, the first reading was proclaimed by Lucille’s Goddaughter, Carol Dube. The second reading was proclaimed by Lucille’s daughter-in-law, Linda Guerette. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Lucille’s granddaughters, Brooke and Adelle Surette.
At the conclusion of Mass, words of remembrance written by Lucille’s children, Joel, Dan, and Claire were recited by daughter-in-law, Linda Guerette. The pallbearers were Christine, Ethan, Jason, Stephen and Mark Guerette, as well as Carol Dube.
Following the service, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Chick-A-Dee Restaurant in Lewiston.
Burial will be held privately at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
