NEW GLOUCESTER — Announcement is made of the engagement of Amber A. Short of New Gloucester and John H. Waisanen III of Auburn.

Miss Short is the daughter of Cathy Mitchell of New Gloucester and Gerald Short Jr. of Minot. Mr. Waisanen is the son of John and Deidre Waisanen of Durham.

The wedding will be held on Feb. 8 at the Hilton Garden Inn.
