BIDDEFORD — City Theater will present “Honk! The Ugly Duckling Musical,” a festive show with a twist based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 16.

The family show follows the adventures of Ugly, a duckling born different from the rest. After he is lured away from his home by a wily Cat, he goes on a quest to find his mother. He makes new friends along the way, including a comical troupe of geese and an ebullient bullfrog. His journey becomes an exuberant celebration of being different.

This timeless tale, geared to all ages, is full of puns and has an uplifting musical score.
