AUBURN — Germaine Ellis, 79, of Auburn, formerly of Canton, died Sunday morning at Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was born in Audet, Province of Quebec, Canada, July 27, 1933, a daughter of Albert and Maria (Vallerand) Bilodeau. She was a hard worker, having been employed at DeCoster’s, GH Bass and also private housekeeping, as well as cleaning the Canton Town Hall.

On Dec. 19, 1974, she married Albert Ellis and they made their home in Canton for many years, before moving to Schooner Estates in Auburn. He died Sept. 29, 2008.

Germaine enjoyed gardening, sewing and keeping her house neat and clean.

She is survived by her sons, Michael “Mike” Fleury and his wife, Barbara of Poland Spring and Roger Fleury of Rumford; sisters, Mary Jane Turgeon of Montreal and Therese Lemieux of Rodham, PQ; grandchildren, Audra Fleury of Winslow, Erica and David Beverly of Ft. Riley, Kan. and their daughter, Olivia Simone Beverly; stepgranddaughters, Jessica Young of Long Beach, Calif. and Vanessa Parlin of Winthrop; stepgrandson, Peter Young of Pebody, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lilly; and brothers, Maurice and Edmund Bilodeau; and a sister, Simone Couture.
