FARMINGTON — Julie Libby was nominated as a member at large to the executive board of the American Association of Pastoral Counseling this past month at the New England regional meeting, and will be representing the Northeast region in a leadership conference and strategic planning meeting for the AAPC in Leesberg, Va., in March.

Libby has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington, and currently serves as the president of Central Maine Counseling Association, as well as serving on the ethics committee for the association. She will be completing her training for the Masters of Science in pastoral counseling from Husson University in collaboration with Bangor Theological Seminary this December, and plans to graduate in May. Her future hopes include private practice in pastoral counseling in Farmington.

Libby is an associate pastor for the nondenominational ministry The Life Community, otherwise known as TLC, which meets at the Farmington Grange hall on Sunday mornings at 9:30. The Life Community’s focus is outward toward the needs of the surrounding community, and they work to maintain that focus through sharing the love of Christ in practical ways, such as their mobile pantry, where locals can find warm clothing and non-food necessities each week.
