LIVERMORE FALLS – Fire departments from Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls are holding a nonperishable food drive to benefit the Tri-Town Ministerial Food Cupboard, which serves all three towns.
The “three alarm” food drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Drop-off points will be at the Livermore Falls Fire Department, Livermore Fire Department, Food City in Livermore Falls and Hannaford in Jay.
If someone cannot make it to a drop-off point, they should call the Livermore Falls Fire Station at 897-6681 between 10 a.m and 3 p.m. Firefighters from all three towns will go out to collect donations, Livermore Falls fire Capt. Alan Chretien said.
Sparky and Chesterville Fire Department’s smoke trailer simulator will be at the Livermore Falls station that day.
The training trailer simulates a room and its contents on fire and gives people a feel for what happens during a fire, including the sound of smoke alarms and nontoxic smoke.
